Writer and Death Doula Amélie Vrla invites you to a literary evening.
Reading, discussing and sharing in English and French around the topic of Parental ambivalence: grieving a life with or without children. Moderated by Cecilia Gil Mariño.
“Having a child, welcoming them into my arms, into my life, would be like changing planets, joining the other astronauts on Mars without having fully understood and discovered the Earth. It would mean embarking on a legendary expedition, becoming part of the adventure everyone was talking about (…). But it would also mean giving up on pursuing the life I had chosen, without any ambivalence, all these years. Turning my head toward the distant stars instead of diving into the seas at my feet.”
