Sonics & Grief aims to be a realm in various iterations of holding and witnessing grief through sound, discourse and community, and is a platform initiated by artist Alexandra Gruebler.
An evening of integration and connection, oriented towards weaving together life, death, each other and components, that precede human cognition. This event will hold a space for conversation, calm and exchange, specifically around the geopoetics of Deep Time, the mineral Zircon and resilience.
The mineral zircon is an incredible keeper of Earth’s time: the oldest piece that was found in Western Australia was formed 4.37 Billion years ago. Zircon serves as the anchoring point of the evening, geochronologically, philosophically as well as materially, and will enable us to be held and embedded in the hemispheres of all that is becoming and all that passes. A collective, somatic sounding moment will close the evening, followed by optional conversation and wine or tea after.
Grief is of a spectral understanding here – it can apply to precise, personal grief as well as broader eco and global grief. Everybody belongs. The priority is safety, choice and gentleness.
The event is free of charge and will be hosted in English. Register now to be part of this connecting and somatic experience!
